About the Farm...Cultivating Impact, a program of the non-profit organization Collective Impact, is an organic produce farm with two locations in Sonoma County: Healdsburg and Santa Rosa. Over the past four years the farm has gone through many changes in terms of the crops grown and the sales outlets, but what has been consistent is our commitment to growing high quality, certified organic produce for local consumption. We want to give back to the community in addition to providing healthy, fresh food, and so we have created Cultivating Impact-a non-profit program that connects children with their food source and promotes sustainable agriculture. After almost two years of searching for just the right place to carry out our mission, I am thrilled to announce that Cultivating Impact has found a new home! Starting in January of 2010 we took over management of a beautiful 5 acre farm in northern Santa Rosa. The farm is located within close proximity to more than five schools that are all eager to integrate the farm into their curriculum. We are looking forward to transforming the property into an exciting outdoor laboratory for the students of these schools, students from our partner program Opportunity Impact, and any others interested in coming to visit. In addition to this new property, we will continue to manage our first farm, located in Alexander Valley. Last year we planted 400 beautiful lavender plants that are all thriving. We plan to have a great harvest this year, likely hosting a few U-pick days and accepting appointments outside of those dates. Check back for updates!
